The Big Bang Theory is a CBS comedy here in the states about 4 geeks. The genuine Caltech-smart variety. It is a prolonged riff on nerd-dom which deals frequently with all of the expected themes: ineptitude with women, Star Trek/Wars references, comic conventions, etc.

Like any proper geek, the protagonists are devout patrons of a comic book store which featuring among other things, a prominent accoutrement none other than Weta’s The Daily Planet statue, from Superman Returns. We must applaud the set designer’s exquisite taste– or did they simply pick out the geekiest thing they could find? You be the judge.

Of course it takes a true geek (and one who proudly has this piece in his collection) to be able to point out such nonsense to you, dear readers. You can see a clip of The Daily Planet getting quite a bit of air time here.

Mystery Sideshow Lady: Actual employee, stock image, or just a figment of our imagination?

She has always been there, greeting Sideshow’s visitors with an air of pleasant enthusiasm. The headset oozes trustworthiness and gentle authority- there’s no question she can’t answer. And with her winning smile, Mystery SS Lady assures us that everything will be alright; she’s always happy to sympathize, rain or shine, so long as it’s during business hours.

Despite seeing her day in and day out on Sideshow’s site, how much do we really know- aside her affinity toward pink business casual wear? We set out investigate this highly important matter.

Whatever it is that people do on Blackberries, we did it on our imaginary ones.

All of this top notch spy work would prove unfruitful at the end of the day: Sideshow smacked us with that kryptonite of investigative reporting, “no comment.”

For now, the mystery of the Mystery Sideshow Lady will have to remain… uh, mysterious. But rest assured, dear readers, as long as there is dirt to be uncovered, we here at [[Artist Proof]] will dig like a constipated gopher until the truth sees the light of day!
