Thanks! And even if a good chunk of the tidbits are already well known, there is always a chance to discover a new thing.

But maybe I should have chosen the title "Weta tidbit of the week", I would have been able to save my tidbits a bit more.

Weta related tidbit of the day:

It may be old news for some of you but back in late 2006, Weta Workshop organised a competition via its former website (wetaholics.com). This competition was asking fans to submit Weta inspired Christmas Carols.

And here is the result before your eyes, enjoy the "music"!

Weta related tidbit of the day:

This video is a video journal from Bryan Singer back in 2005 when he was shooting Superman Returns in Australia.
Where is the link with Weta could you ask me? It has to do with the shooting of King Kong happening at the same time but I let you discover it.

Weta related tidbit of the day:

During the shooting of the movie Braindead (US title: Dead Alive), for the finale where the hero is using a lawnmower strapped to his chest, over 300 liters of blood was pumped out of the lawnmower per minute. That is probably why this movie is considered one the goriest ever made.

And on another note - Dr. Grordbort's Rocket Pack for biwheeled velocipedes. It'd be a seller (though needs Greg to design a nice cowling for the engines and the radio control)!!!

Take two conceptual designers from Weta Workshop, give them a nintendo DS with the homebrew software Colors and let them scribble for a while.
You end up with the illustration of two typical mens obsessions at 99DS: naked women & cars.

Weta related tidbit of the day:

Let's have a closer look at the mechanical creature over seeing the Weta forums from its banner. It was designed by Stephen Lambert a.k.a Scoobasteve and proudly sits in Weta's boardroom.

This one-of-a-kind wonder was even immortalized on a stamp made by the NZ post.

Enjoy some close ups and concept art of the "Wetabot Mark I" and don't forget to go to Stephen's website to see more of his work (there is even a MOA bot!).
