Well, I know I'm bias, but I think you guys are wrong. While Doctor Who isn't well know in say the US or parts of Europe, around 8 million ppl in the UK watch it, the only the soaps bet it in the ratings and then not by a large amount, given how fractured the TV viewing audience is today.

Also given its 40+ year history, there are plenty of 30-40 year olds with a bit of spare cash to buy them.

Sure the proof will be in seeing what the first 4 are, but given a popular character and lowish ES (3000 of Rose, or Sarah Jane Smith or Tom Bakers Doctor will sell out), I don't think Weta will have any problems selling this line.

I hope they just limit the characters to those from the most current series with either Chris Eccleston or David Tennant as the Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose, oh and that new girl who plays Martha.
However, if they don't...saves me moneh!

Can't stand the old series to be honest, maybe thats because Im too young to appreciate it.

Absolutely, I love the new series but I just can't get into the old series, i've tried so so so many times but I find them so boring.

I agree too. When I watch the old ones its more for comic relief. Its dated so badly and the plots and acting alone...

The new series are tip though, and combine everything great about the sci fi genre.
...I miss Chris Eccleston and Piper though...

Personally I really hope it covers classic series as well and given that the weta site has both old and new logo's, I think its a fair bet it will cover the whole series and I really do want statues from all 40+ years.

From the info I've read so far on the new line it appears the first four statues will be from the old series. Maybe I interpeted it wrong.

If it is the old ones then I'll for sure be saving myself some money. I didn't care for the old ones too much.

Where did you read that? Given both logo's have been used, I'm more expecting a mix of old and new for the first 4.

And actually its the big Doctor Who fans you have to be worried about, since we are the ones that are going to be the most picky

Of course in a way thats weta's own fault, based on the LOTR line I already have some pretty high expectations.
