WIN Dr. Grordborts Infallible Aether Oscillator!

We are asking you to create the ultimate fantasy figure and to design the weaponry they carry with them too. Your inspiration can come from anywhere and the character can be from the past, the present or even the future.

The choice of medium is entirely up to you, drawn, computer-generated, or modelled to create a 3-D interpretation, the choice is yours.

When you’ve created your character, to enter the competition simply go to: http://www.wonderfulworldofweta.co.uk/competitions.html

Your character will be judged by the man who began the whole Weta Workshop phenomenon. He is the multi Oscar® winning Richard Taylor, and if you can impress him you’ll be sure that your character has all the makings of a real icon.

What Richard will be looking for is a character that is derived totally from your imagination. That’s not to say it has to be a character who would appear in any of the Weta films, though – your imagination and choices really have no boundaries.

If you’re the person who goes further than anyone else in impressing Richard, you’ll receive some amazing prizes.

Firstly, you’ll receive a limited edition Weta Ray Gun – or “Dr Grordbort’s Infallible Aether Oscillator” to give it its official name. This full scale antique-styled sci-fi weapon has been meticulously built for Weta by master model-maker David Tremont. These are much sought-after by collectors everywhere so it really is a prize to treasure.

You will also enjoy a VIP trip to the Royal Armouries in October to view the special summer exhibition: Arms & Armour from the Movies: The Wonderful World of Weta, including a night for two in a Leeds hotel, dinner for two and a guided tour of the exhibition by Richard Taylor and curator Bob Woosnam-Savage. However you will need to arrange your own travel to Leeds UK.

You’ll hear fascinating stories behind the creation and use of many of the pieces and have the chance to quiz your guides as they show you round. Then, as a souvenir of the tour, you’ll receive an exclusive selection of merchandise to take home with you.

Competitions and exhibitions like this don’t come around very often and prizes like these are rarer still. So now it’s time to get your imagination to work and who knows where it will take you...

Excellent interview Chuck! Never tire of getting insights into the lives of the Weta-rians, and their amazing work.
Hopefully I can snag a Raygun down the line :D Some 1/6 statues would be AWESOME.

As Chuck mentioned , a 1/6 scale version of the Lord Cockswain and Moon Mistress that they had at the Comic-Con would be a top seller ! I'm saving my money now , Weta . ;)
