::Sculptural Quality::
Another excellent sculpt from Mike Asquith. The character is captured perfectly, hunching over with a look of conspiracy about his face. The posture speaks only deceit, clutching a handkerchief in one hand and reaching for his dagger with the other, plotting the most dastardly of deeds.
Lots of robe here, and painted black at that. The folds and wrinkles are well defined, and the details in the fur collar are excellent as well. Not very exciting but admittedly faithful– a description you may well apply to the statue entirely.
::Paint Application::
Grima comes alive with the paint treatment given, exhibiting a sickly pale tone with a hint of darkness around the lips. The end result serves to accentuate the portrait wonderfully. The medallion hanging from his neck and the belt buckle are bronzed, and although the rest of the piece is essentially black at first glance, there are subtle accents of color on the fur collar as well. His dark attire contrasts nicely against Saruman’s whites. A well rounded paintjob that brings the goods where it counts.
::Parting Notes::
A great statue, of that there is no doubt, although the subject is unsavory, which is its biggest hurdle. It remains one of the few pieces still available from Sideshow Collectibles. ‘Fans’ of Wormtongue are few and far between, and this piece might come across as boring even to those who devote their collection to evil characters. The spectacular companion display coupled with Saruman sealed the deal long ago for me.

The best “human” of the bunch, old wormey is just about perfect.
